Tim Bainey Jr. & the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck Team Have Tough Trip to Bristol

Tim Bainey Jr. and the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck Series Team experienced a part of racing – that up to this point – they fortunately never had to experience before… failing to qualify for an event.

“It was pretty disappointing,” said Tim Jr. “I know it’s something almost every team has dealt with in the past, but it doesn’t make it any easier on you. It’s a pretty bad feeling to be loading up after qualifying.”

Tim Jr. turned in the 34th quickest lap out of the 39 trucks taking time, but 3 of the trucks behind him were locked into the show as they were inside the top-25 of the NASCAR Truck Series owner points. In the end, Tim Jr. and the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck Team came up 1 position shy of making the field.

“I guess you’re going to have a bad day once in awhile,” Tim Jr. answered. “We knew all day in practice we were right on the edge of making it. There were about 6 of us that were really close on time throughout practice. We were at the bottom of that list in one practice, and on top of it in the other practice.”

Tim Jr. and the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck Team were 30th quickest in the first practice session and 32nd quickest in the final session.

“We tried something for qualifying that picked us up on speed… but just not as much as the other guys. I’m really proud of my Aaron’s Dream Team, I feel bad for them and for our sponsors… they’re all 100% behind us in this and that makes it tough. At the same time… if it wasn’t for their support and “we’ll get them next time” outlook on the whole deal - - well that’s what really makes me thankful we’re surrounded with such a great group of people.”

“We will go over everything in the next week and I’m sure our #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck will be ready to run at Iowa.”

Tim Jr. and the #00 Aaron’s Dream Team will be heading to their next event at Iowa Speedway in Newton, IA.
