Tim
Bainey Jr. and the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck Series Team posted a very
impressive 15th place finish in their NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series Debut this weekend at Dover International Speedway during the “AAA
Insurance 200”.
“It was a
great way for us to make our debut with a 15th place finish in a
NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Event,” Tim Jr. cracked a smile “I
couldn’t be happier right now for our #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Team.”
“I have
to thank everyone at Aaron’s for being
behind
us in this, Ken Butler, Charlie and Robin Loudermilk, and all the great
people who work throughout the company. It really means a lot to know how
much they think of us, my family, and our team. Just to be associated with
such great people is an honor in itself.”

“To have
a top-15 finish in our first ever NASCAR start is just awesome,” Tim Jr.
added. “I always tell people, we work hard at it, treat people right, and
trust in god. The more you do it – the better things get – and to
be sitting here with our Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck and a 15th place
finish in our NASCAR Debut… this is pretty cool!”
Tim Jr.
and the team
unloaded at Dover with
zero laps on the new #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck, it was also Tim Jr’s first
visit to the famed “Monster Mile” in any racing series.
“We
definitely took on a tough task,” said Tim Jr. “That makes it even more
rewarding for us to look back on. My first lap in a truck was Thursday
morning at Dover, and that was a little intimidating to say the least.”
“We took
our time, worked on the truck, and I worked on trying to catch my breath a
little more each time we went out. Our Aaron’s Dream Team really worked
together throughout the weekend, and it all came together for us in the
end.”

Tim Jr.
got a little loose off turn four in Friday’s Qualifying
Session (as noted by the commentators during the live Speed channel
broadcast), but still managed to
turn in the 32nd fastest time in the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck,
which would place them 36th on the starting grid.
“Timmy
had his hands full in qualifying,” said Crew Chief Dan Bainey. “We needed to
tighten it up a little, but he did a great job – made a nice save and kept
us in the show.”
When the
green flag waved, Tim Jr. and the team focused on getting as many laps in as
they could and staying out of trouble.

“Our goal
was to get Timmy some seat time in the Truck,” said Crew Chief Dan Bainey.
“His first lap on a track this season was in Thursday’s practice session, so
that was tough. He did a great job, he’s really good at keeping his
composure and always takes care of our equipment.”
“We
wanted to just keep up with the pack for the first 50-75 laps, let him feel
out the truck and the track, then start racing guys after that. Once he got
comfortable, we made a few adjustments, and by the end we were running right
with some of the best.”

Tim Jr.
was inside the top-25 by lap 100 and the team continued to move up as the
race went on. They managed to lead a lap with the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog
Truck during a round of Pit Stops, event got the Aaron’s Lucky Dog pass
during the event, and ended the day with a 15th place finish.
“It was a
really great day for the Aaron’s Lucky Dog Team,” finished Dan. “To come
home with a 15th place finish in our NASCAR Truck Series Debut is
pretty awesome. We’ll continue to learn, and we’ll just keep getting better.
But it’s a pretty good start!”
