Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck Team’s Loudon Run Goes up in Smoke after Qualifying
21st
Tim
Bainey Jr. and the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog NASCAR Truck Series Team turned
some heads with a very impressive 21st place qualifying effort
for the Helluva Good 200 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
“We were
pretty happy with the way we qualified,” said a smiling Tim Jr. just minutes
after learning they were 21st in the 36 truck field.
“It’s
something we’re still learning, but we beat some really good teams with that
lap. The whole transition into the new series is something that will take
time, but I’m really happy with where our Aaron’s Dream Team is at right
now.”
The race
would unfortunately end early for the #00 Aaron’s Lucky Dog Truck Team after
just 29 laps as a problem in the drivetrain led to quite a fire underneath
the Aaron’s Truck. Tim Jr. was able to safely escape, but the damage was too
extensive to continue in the race.
“We had a
really good truck this weekend, and that is the bad part.” said Tim Jr.
“We’ve done a lot of work to get this thing right on, and I think we were
really close with the setup this weekend. I really was hoping to see just
how good it was as the race went on… but we didn’t make it that far.”
“I’m not
really sure what happened yet,” said Tim Jr. “We’ll know more when we get to
the shop, but we had oil in some places it shouldn’t have been… and the fire
tore some things up in the engine compartment. I don’t really know, but it
ruined a good day for our Aaron’s Dream Team.”
The team
now turns its attention to the last even on their 2009 NASCAR Truck Series
Schedule October 24th at Martinsville, VA.
Between now and then Tim Jr. and
the AARON’S DREAM TEAM
