Tim Bainey Jr. and the
Aaron’s Dream Team Finish 9th at Salem
Tim Bainey Jr. and #00 Aaron’s Dream Team had another great run this weekend
at Salem Speedway, as they finished 9th in the Lucas Oil 200.
“It was another great run for the Aaron’s Dream Team,” said Tim Jr. “We had
a really strong car tonight. Another top-10 is great, but I think we had a
solid top-5 car if it wasn’t for that tire problem late in the race. Still,
I couldn’t be happier with how our team is running right now.”
It was a great run indeed for the #00 Aaron’s Dream Team.
Tim Jr. would qualify the Aaron’s Dream Machine 15th for the
night’s event. “I bobbled a little too much in 3 and 4 on my first lap,”
said Tim Jr. “We lost a little time there and that hurt both laps, but I
knew we were fast.”
From there it was straight to the front for Dream Machine. Tim Jr. would
quickly work his way inside the top-10, where he would ride for the first 60
laps before coming to pit road with the leaders. After another caution near
halfway Tim Jr. would make his final stop for fuel and return to the track
in the 6th position.
He would move into 5th on the first lap back under green, and
with 50 to go was right in line with the leaders.
“We had a really great car,” said Tim Jr. “I was just riding in line for
about 100 laps in the middle of the race. We were just trying to stay out of
trouble and be there for the last 50. Everything was going great, but then
we started losing front grip a little. I did everything I could to keep it
up there, we eventually found out it was a left front tire… but to come home
with another top-10 finish – I’m happy with that.”
The Aaron’s Dream Team would finish 9th in the event, their 3rd
Top-10 run in the last 4 events. With the finish, Tim Jr. and the Aaron’s
Dream Team currently sit 9th in the Championship Point Standings.
You can watch the Lucas Oil 200 next Monday July 7th at 4:00pm on the Versus
