Tim Bainey Jr. and the
Aaron’s Dream Team Finish 11th in “Aaron’s 250” at Southern
National Raceway Park in Kenly
After two tough finishes in the last two events, Tim Bainey Jr. and #00
Aaron’s Dream Team finally got a finish that somewhat resembled the
performance of the #00 Aaron’s Dream Team as they came home 11th
in the “Aaron’s 250” at Southern National Raceway Park this weekend.
“We had another really great car this weekend,” said Tim Jr. “It’s tough to
be disappointed with an 11th place finish in one of these
Championship Series Events, but I think we really had a car that was even
better than that - BUT – we had to start 26th after qualifying
was rained out, so I’m pretty happy with what we did today.”
It was another very impressive run for Tim Jr. in the #00 Aaron’s Dream
Machine, and considering all the testing other teams did in preparation for
the event – the Aaron’s Dream Team once again proved they are on top of
things this season.
Crew Chief Dan Bainey said this, “These Championship Events
are pretty tough. You have the best of the best, and to top it off – these
other teams are testing at every one of these Championship Tracks.”
“There were teams here that were actually on the track Thursday, Friday, and
Saturday. Timmy ran about 30 laps total before the race started, he was
really happy with the car, and we were ‘for sure’ one of the ten fastest
cars here. I think that says a lot about our Aaron’s Dream Team.”
Tim Jr. brought the Aaron’s Dream Machine to pit road early in the race
along with many of the other front runners. The Dream Team pulled off a
great pit stop as Tim Jr. would turn his focus to patiently working the
traffic on what proved to be a very tough to pass track.

“I loved the track,” said Tim Jr. “But it was tough to pass on. We just
tried to get them one at a time, keep the fenders on it, and save our
brakes. In the end it really worked out well for us. A few more laps and we
could have got that top-10, but it was another solid run for our Aaron’s
Dream Team – and that’s really makes me feel good.”
With the finished they climbed up to 24th in the point standings.
With only 4 races making up this year’s championship series, bad luck struck
at the wrong time as the Aaron’s Dream Team started the chase with 2
finishes of 33rd and 27th. Up to that point, they only
had 1 finish outside the top-20 all season long.
“Our chase standings don’t show it, but it’s been an awesome year for our
Aaron’s Dream Team. And we’ll see if we can’t top it off with another great
run at Rockingham in 2 weeks,” Tim Jr. finished up with a smile.
You can watch the “Aaron’s 250” from Southern National Speedway Monday
October 27th at 4:00pm on the Versus Network.
